ALTERED -

we've all had one. one of those huge, "life-changing," moments that will never leave us the same. what i have trouble understanding is how easily i forget about the moments that have changed my life. it kills me to know that 3 weeks ago, i had a moment when i built an alter with my life at the United night in nashville. i built my alter and laid myself down. yet now i've found myself wrapped up in the same bitterness and selfishness i tried to lay down. i still remember the moment singing, "i'll never be the same," but i am. that sucks. props to denise horn on this one. for those of you who don't know, denise horn is the youth pastor at Christ the Rock Metro Church. she spoke on this wednesday when i played out there with the worship band.

you see, we can't forget those moments. no matter what it takes, we have to remember what happened when we surrendered and built an alter. if that requires accountability, find it. if it takes discipline, take it. we can change, who we are right here, and right now. the world will tell us that we'll fall, but we've got to hold eachother together, and we've got to hold onto God.

in scripture God tells us that those who ask recieve. He says that if you ask him for a loaf of bread, He's not going to give you a scorpion. if you've never had a life-altering moment, then maybe this is your time to ask God for one. even if you have had a life-altering moment, ask again. you can't ever have enough moments like this, because we can never forget. never forget.

never forget.

cheers,
-dav
